Error 1413 while restoring the iTunes!


Whenever you encounter a problem with your ipod the 1st thing you do is restore your ipod. There is a possibility that during a restoration process you can get the error which can create the obstruction and also do not permit the successful restoration. Sometimes you can get the error message also like “An unknown error has occurred 1413”

This ipod unknown error 1413 shows that your ipod is not restored properly or updated properly. When you will try to restore or update your ipod with iTunes 7 then also you can get this error message. In windows it is more common due to the existence of the anti spyware. This software doesn’t allow the iTunes to properly install and finally gives the error 1413 ipod message.

You can solve this problem by de activating an anti spyware. Then you may reinstall your iTunes on your system. After reinstalling your iTunes you can update or restore your ipod. If again you are facing the itunes error 1413 then try the following steps:

  • Exit the iTunes. Then open the Windows Explorer. Then search for the ‘C:\Program Files\iTunes’
  • From start menu run cmd command with Run option
  • When a command prompt opens you can type regsvr32 which should be followed by a path to a .dll file like regsvr32 “c:\ Program Files\ iTunes\ iPodUpdaterExt.dll” where ‘c:\ Program Files\ iTunes\ iPodUpdaterExt.dll’ is the path of the .dll file
  • Then you can press the Enter button. Then a window will open which reads ‘DllRegisterServer in c:\ Program Files\ iTunes\ iPodUpdaterExt.dll succeeded.’
  • Then close that window
  • Then finally you can re open the iTunes and then restore your ipod

With above procedure you can restore your ipod but you can not restore its data. If you have the backup then you can recover your lost data from the backup but if you do not have the backup then in that case you can use ipod data recovery software. It can recover the data which are lost because of restoring or formatting the ipod. It scans your ipod disk to perform the recovery process of ipod data.
