Restoring iPod to factory settings

- Download and install latest version of iTunes.
- Open iTunes and sync your iPod with your PC or Mac.
- An iPod management screen will appear.
- Select your iPod and you will get information about your iPod in the Summary tab of the window.
- There is a button named “Restore”.
- Click on “Restore” button on the iPod management screen.
- iTunes will once again ask you to confirm restoring, so make sure again that you’ve already provided for the backup.
- You get the option which that may prompt iTunes to automatically download the latest bug free iPod software. Follow the onscreen instruction.
- On Mac you have to enter your computer’s password but on window it starts.
- A progress bar will appear to help you track the downloading progress.
- After completion of restore process, iTunes will present one of two messages on screen wit instruction related to iPod models which you are restoring.
- (for the older iPod) Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter.
- . (For newer one) leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore.
- Now iPod will show an Apple logo as well as progress bar at the bottom of the display.
- Restore process is compete and the iPod is connected to the computer.
- Now you get the blank new iPod in your hand.
